Where Ad Budgets Go to Die

If any of these sound familiar, you're paying Google to lose money.

Clicks that never convert

Traffic goes up, revenue doesn't. Broad keywords and generic landing pages pull in tire-kickers who cost you money and never buy.

No idea what's actually working

Without proper conversion tracking you're optimizing on clicks, not customers. And Google happily spends your budget chasing the wrong signal.

Wasted spend on junk searches

No negative-keyword discipline means you're paying for searches that will never be customers: "free," "jobs," "diy," and worse.

Ads pointed at your homepage

Sending high-intent ad clicks to a generic homepage instead of a matched landing page quietly halves your conversion rate.

How We Run Profitable Campaigns

The unglamorous fundamentals that separate profitable accounts from expensive ones.

01

Track

We install airtight conversion tracking first, so every decision is made on revenue, not vanity clicks.

02

Structure

Tight, single-keyword ad groups with pinned, relevant ads, so quality score climbs and cost per click falls.

03

Match

Every campaign points at a dedicated landing page built to convert that exact search intent.

04

Optimize

Weekly negative-keyword pruning, bid and budget shifts to winners, and remarketing to close the rest.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ad budget do I need?

We recommend a minimum of $1,500-$2,000/month in ad spend so there's enough data to optimize on, plus management. Below that, paid search rarely gathers enough signal to beat organic, and we'll tell you so rather than take the account.

Do I own the ad account?

Always. We build in your Google Ads account, with your billing. If we ever part ways, the account, campaigns, history, and data stay with you. No hostage situations.

How soon will I see results?

Campaigns launch within 1-2 weeks. Expect the first 30-60 days to gather data and stabilize cost per acquisition, then steady optimization from there. Anyone promising instant profitability on day one is guessing.

How is this different from boosting posts or an in-house attempt?

The difference is structure and tracking. Most struggling accounts have broad keywords, no negatives, no conversion tracking, and ads pointed at a homepage. Fixing those four things is usually the entire turnaround.

How much does Google Ads management cost?

Management is a flat monthly fee based on spend and campaign count, quoted after we look at the account so you are not paying for complexity you do not have. Ad spend is separate and always goes directly to Google on your own card.

What is a single-keyword ad group and why does it matter?

It puts one keyword in its own ad group so the ad text can match the search almost exactly. Tighter matching lifts quality score, and a higher quality score means you pay less for the same position. It is more setup work up front, and it is the main structural reason a properly built account beats a boosted post.

Will you use Performance Max?

Where it earns its place. Performance Max works well for ecommerce and broad demand capture, and it works badly when it quietly eats your brand search. We run it alongside tightly controlled search campaigns with brand exclusions, never as a replacement for them.

What happens if cost per lead moves the wrong way?

We report it, name the cause, and change the plan. The usual causes are seasonality, a competitor bidding up the auction, or a change on the landing page. You see the same dashboard we do, so there is no version of this you find out about late.

Do you handle the landing pages as well?

Yes. Ads pointed at a homepage are the most common reason accounts underperform, because a homepage has to serve everyone and therefore convinces no one. We build and test the pages the traffic lands on, and those pages stay yours.

What tracking do you put in place?

Conversion tracking in Google Ads, key events in GA4, and server-side signals where the platform supports them, so the numbers in the ad account reconcile with the leads that actually reach your CRM.
